Multiplicative prefixes are used in chemical names to indicate a number of identical structural units in a compound. These prefixes are based on numerical terms ranging from 1 to 9999.
For example, the prefix "octahexacontatetracta-" is used in the name of the alkane with 468 carbon atoms: octahexacontatetractane. In addition to these basic prefixes, you can generate prefixes for compound/complex entities (such as substituted substituents) and repeated units in ring assemblies.
